Braxília

Synopsis: A 2010 documentary short film about Brazilian poet Nicolas Behr and his poetic gaze upon the city of Brasília. The film shows how the modernist landscape of the city designed by Oscar Niemeyer impacted on Behr’s literary output, culminating in the creation of ‘Braxilia’, an imaginary city within the boundaries of the real one. The film is a drifting through the streets of Brasília in search of the whereabouts of the fictitious metropolis imagined by the poet. It mixes images of the city with Behr’s poetic and playful language and is structured in three fundamental axes: 1) interviews with Nicolas Behr; 2) poems read in voice-over by the poet himself; 3) urban interventions with Behr’s poems written and/or projected over different architectonical supports.
