Charo Santos returns to acting in Lav Diaz’s new film ‘Ang Babaeng Humayo’

Charo Santos just dropped some major news today: she had just finished filming for Lav Diaz’s new film Ang Babaeng Humayo. The nonchalance with which this bit of information is announced escapes me; I share with Richard Bolisay (who took to Twitter to share the news) a feeling of welcome surprise. The new film, which is slated for release Christmas Day (yup, the new and refined M.M.F.F. looks like it’s kicking high-gear), marks the actress’ return to the craft. Ms. Santos is the current C.C.O. of ABS-CBN, the largest television and broadcasting network in the Philippines. Ms. Santos holds an established filmography as a film actress, having worked with the likes of Mike De Leon and Lino Brocka.
