Jerrold Tarog is among the few directors who push their films to home video. His previous films Confessional and Mangatyanan—both currently available on DVD—have a sizable amount of extra features which to the casual cinephile are highly valuable. And perhaps are huge deciding factors behind the purchase.

We’d expect the same for Heneral Luna (read Tristan’s review here), which we hear is going to be packed with a slew of other features such as an extensive making-of film, a music video of Ebe Dancel‘s “Hanggang Wala Nang Bukas”, and a special featurette called “Illustrado Problems”, which shows some of the ilustrados from the cast.

In addition to this, Tarog is also releasing two of his films on DVD: Senior Year, his film about high schoolers who struggle to “find their identities in a country that barely has one”; and Sana Dati, the final part of his Camera Trilogy. We’ll fill you in as news come.
