Here’s the trailer for Ivan Payawal’s Cinemalaya entry ‘I, America’

Quickly dropping here the teaser-trailer for Ivan Andrew Payawal’s I America, an indie dramedy starring Bella Padilla. It looks gorgeous by the way, and that’s thanks to Carlo Mendoza, whom you might have heard me mention with films like Barber’s Tales and Ari: My Life With a King. Not much is known about its plot, except that Padilla plays a “complex half-Pinay, half-Caucasian lady looking for American living in Olongapo City who tries to get her passport and US visa in order to meet her father personally for the first time.”

I America also stars Elizabeth Oropesa, Lui Manansala, Matt Evans, Thou Reyes, and Rhyzza Kafilas, and will open as part of the main competition lineup of the 2016 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival this August 5 thru 14.
