Trailer: Alexandre Aja's 'The Pyramid' Unearths Legendary EvilWe are only a few weeks from the release of the much-awaited adaptation of Joe Hill’s novel Horns, a film with which director Alexandre Aja rekindles fire among his critics, rediscovering at last his distinctive flair first made note of in his electric psychological-thriller Haute Tension. Aja, who post-Haute has since plunged into a handful of at best serviceable genre films (think: Mirrors), is keeping a tight schedule with another film (in which he serves as presenter and producer) following the release of his talked-about, upcoming Daniel Radcliffe-starrer.

The Pyramid, promoted with Aja’s name attached, marks the directorial debut of screenwriter Grégory Levassuer whom he has already worked with in Franck Khafloun’s remake of the 80’s exploitation thriller Maniac. The film follows a group of American archaeologists who, you have guessed it, treks deep into an ancient Egyptian pyramid only to be faced against an ancient terror they have unknowingly unearthed.
