Big budget, foreign, indie or local, movie trailers give us a glimpse of what we can expect; excitement, disappointment or wanting more, the art of advertising is so powerful that in few minutes of video streaming, we already judged or decided what films we are planning to see.

Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tells No Tales
The fifth installment of the box office hit franchise on boards Javier Bardem as Captain Salazar and looks haunting in the latest trailer for the Pirates of the Caribbean 5. Joining the cast as well is the rising Australian young star Brenton Thwaites who appeared in several hits (Oculus, Maleficent) and flops (Gods of Egypt, The Giver). Looks darker than ever, we’ll see Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) searching for the trident of Poseidon! Very exciting indeed!
Evolution
Penned and directed by Gaspar Noe’s wife Lucile Hadzihalilovic, the body horror Evolution releases an extremely creepy and weird trailer. Trust me, I’ve seen this film at the Toronto International Film Festival 2015 and the chills this trailer will give you is a great intro to the twisted and very creative phenomena in the storyline. Get ready to this brilliant upcoming horror in the mix of David Cronenberg and Gaspar Noe’s styles.
Power Rangers
I’ve decided I’m giving this film the benefit of the doubt especially after Elizabeth Banks and Bryan Cranston have signed in. This first teaser trailer hints an interesting backstory and seems to have a darker premise than what we all have expected. Fresh from Project Almanac, even though director’s Dean Israelite’s earlier film is not a big hit critically and commercially, the guy appears to have a unique vision. Watch this teaser trailer and judge if you’ll end up rushing to theaters once this is released.
John Wick 2
Looks as badass and wild as the first film, based on the plot and trailer, John Wick 2 is really a sequel… Always thought that a prequel makes more sense and can potentially expand into much richer storyline. First installment is particularly great not because of the gun kata, but because of the unknown and intriguing back-story of the central characters. Let’s see how they will pull this off. I am onboard with this one but not until February 2017!
Jackie
The initial teaser trailer for Jackie, validates that the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals hypes as all real with respect to Natalie Portman’s performance. People already sealed her Oscar chances but it seems the whole package of Jackie as a period drama is very interesting. Directed by Pedro Larrain who also helmed the acclaimed films No and The Club, Larrain is definitely not new in organizing period or autobiographical features.
Die Beautiful
Competing in the main competition of the upcoming Tokyo International Film Festival 2016, June Robles Lana’s latest, Die Beautiful has Paolo Ballesteros in the lead. The film, which is about Trisha, a transgender who decided to remain beautiful ’till death looks fun, fresh and yet very poignant at its core. Enjoy the trailer for now since it seems there is no local release date for the film yet. We will, of course, ping you as the film makes the announcement.
