HBO Max is here. Same app like, new-ish name.

In our household, we’ve always called it ‘HBO Max’, or ‘HBO’ or ‘Max’.

Yesterday we received news that the app we’ve called Max for quite some time now, that was previously called HBO, that was ceremoniously announced as HBO max for sometime, is now back to being called that.

I know I am not alone in seeing the memes that even HBO Max/Warner’s social media team has made fun of this new-ish update. An article from Variety details how much of a shame it is — as told by branding experts.

Nonetheless, HBO Max is here and it is back and here’s hoping it doesn’t go back to it being HBO. Though one might still call it that. Or maybe we’re just missing Cinemax, too?
